Kristen Holleyman, a mountain girl at heart, graduated from The University of Colorado with her B.A. in Spanish Literature, Secondary Education, and a Minor in Dance. Surrounded by the inspiration of The Rocky Mountains, Kristen found a love for creating and performing while dancing and choreographing both for Dream Project Dance Company and RockStarz, and danced for the NBA Denver Nuggets Dancers with whom she toured Germany, Belgium, and The U.K. performing for U.S. troops, and teaching dance to their children.
Kristen’s love for the arts brought her to Los Angeles, where she has been dancing with companies such as Jam Today Dance Theatre under Robyn O’Dell, Datugan Dance Theatre with founder Ken Datugan, LA Rock Opera with choreographer and director Janet Roston, and Intersect Dance Theatre under the direction of Sophia Carreras. Some of Kristen’s industry credits include dancing with artists such as Mya and Daft Punk, The Wonderful Pistachios Superbowl Commercial featuring Psy, and the film “Revival” directed by Obba Babatunde. She has also enjoyed working with choreographers such as Alfonzo Cervera, Kumari Suraj, Luana Simpson, Sienna Lyons, Noelle Bajandas, Eric Sanchez, and Rich and Tone, and trains extensively under Tasha Hamilton, focusing on ballet technique and exploring improvisational movement.
With a love for storytelling and character work, Kristen also is an actor who consistently trains at The Actors Room with Steven G. Lowe. Kristen is currently working on a dance/silent acting fusion film that she has created/choreographed, in which will be submitted to film festivals in 2016.
Kristen believes in using and sharing the gifts God gave us, and she feels so blessed to be able to teach dance to children, adults and special needs students. Kristen is honored to be a part of the faculty at Fifth Row Center Performing Arts.
