Matthew Rogers

Matthew Rogers is a recent UCLA Graduate, earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in World Arts and Cultures – Dance. Matthew has trained/studied for nineteen years in various dance styles such as Tap, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Lyrical, Modern/ Post-Modern, Gymnastics, Ballroom, West African, Afro- Caribbean and Latin American dance, just to name a few. Matthew is originally from San Diego, but moved to Los Angeles for college and his dance career. In 2005, Matthew, along side with his sister, performed live in New York on ABC’s Good Morning America, winning the Kid’s division “Greatest Dancer in America Contest.”  He has also appeared on The Ellen Show a few times in a flash mob or as a dancer from the audience. Matthew has performed as a back-up dancer for The Pointer Sisters, Patti LaBelle, Charice, and other artists. At the end of Matthew’s Junior year  at UCLA he wrote, choreographed, and danced in his own TED Talk hosted at UCLA “TEDxUCLA.”  In his senior year, Matthew co-produced the annual Undergraduate World Arts and Cultures – Dance showcase, writing thousands of dollars worth of grants, organizing over 100 schedules, and producing a show, created by three undergraduate students for the whole department/school. Matthew is so excited to be teaching and continuing his passion and love for dance, here at Fifth Row. GO BRUINS!
